You submit
Send over your car's details. If it's a good fit, we'll find a date and location that works for both of us. I'm based in Colorado's Front Range, so that's home base — though for the right car, I'm happy to travel.
We film it
Filming takes 3–5 hours. I'll be in the car alone for the talking portions of the review. Comfortable hitting the record button on the camera for the flybys? Great — if not, we'll schedule around our second videographer.
It goes live
In 2–4 weeks, your car is live and reviewed on the channel. You'll also walk away with the raw flyby footage and an edited photo catalog from the day.
What kind of cars we review
I'm based in Colorado's Front Range — Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and everywhere in between — so that's home base for reviews. That said, for the right car I'm happy to travel, so don't let distance stop you from reaching out.
We'll accept most cars for review as long as they've got mild sporting credentials, or simply offer an interesting driving experience. It doesn't need to be a track weapon — it needs to be something worth talking about.
Any car submitted for review needs to be fit for purpose:
- Brakes in good condition, with decent, not super old, brake fluid
- Tires with a safe amount of tread left for adequate/consistent grip
- Tires not mismatched in model (different date codes are fine)
- Car should not be running rough or misfiring
I'm not responsible for failures resulting from poor condition or maintenance.
What actually happens on film day
B-roll. The day starts at a good pull-off to grab the b-roll for the video — this takes about 30–45 minutes. It's a pretty chill part of the process; we'll talk through your ownership experience and anything you feel should be part of the review.
Behind the wheel. Once that's done, I'll take the car for a few minutes to get a feel for it. If you'd like to ride along for this part, that's fine.
The flybys. From there we'll find 3–4 suitable corners or straights for the driving portion of the video. This is the hardest part to shoot — it takes real coordination between the camera operator and the driver, plus U-turns on the road, so we're picky about where we do it: safe spots to turn around, and a safe place for the camera operator to be standing. These clips aren't about being reckless or pushing the car's limits — the goal is smooth, clean footage of the car through the corners. If it also conveys a sense of the car's dynamics, that's a bonus, but it's never necessary and always comes second to getting the shot safely.
Thumbnail photos. Somewhere in there — during the b-roll, the flybys, or both — I'll also grab a few photos of the car for the video thumbnail. Exactly when depends on the car and the location.
Talking through it. After the flybys comes the part where I get on camera and talk through how the car actually feels. This is the only portion where I need to be in the car alone — it's not about driving fast or exploiting the car, it's just me honestly voicing my thoughts on it (hopefully positive ones).
Once that's wrapped, we're done for the day.
Timeline, and what you walk away with
Videos can take many hours to edit, and there may be a queue of other reviews ahead of yours — but expect your video to be live within 4 weeks.
Sometime in those 4 weeks, expect an email with a link. That link holds the color-graded flyby footage for you to keep, along with the photo shoot we take with the car during the review. The photos will be fully edited and ready to print and wall-mount if you'd like.
During editing, your car's plate is blurred in every shot, so you and your car stay completely private.
Why GoDrive exists.
I started GoDrive because the car reviews I was watching weren't answering the questions I actually had. I didn't need another guy reading me the car's specs. I wanted to know how the car felt when you really drove it.
I'm Garrett. I grew up racing karts and later worked as lead instructor at the private race school Driveway Austin. A big part of racing was communicating to the team what the car was doing under me so we could dial in a perfect setup.
